Side table with tile top: Day 1

Day 1: Laying it all out.

I sized the tabletop with the tile I picked up Thursday morning. I'm using all the tile that I bought so there's no room for a screw up! The table top will have three layers, the bottom is 1/2 in plywood for support, the middle is 1/4 in cement board for the tile foundation, and the top is the glass tile.

The cement board is used because it does not expand and contract as much as plywood would during temperature changes.

Next step will be to build out the frame for the table. Got to make another run to the lumber store!
