Project #1: Coffee Table

After a long search for a coffee table for my living room, I finally stumbled upon an amazing piece at an asian designer store online.

This table from GreenTeaDesign listed at $1200, and there was no way that I was going to pay that much just for a table (top image).

My poor man's solution was to try to build my own table that looked like it. After three long weeks of working in my parents garage everyday after work, I finally was able to finish my copy cat version (bottom image).

The table is made out of solid red oak. It is stained in espresso color to match my chocolate couch. I think it turned out quite nicely for my first woodworking project.
